Valley Beth Shalom
Sunday, June 22, 7:00pm PT
During this one-hour zoom class — just for Valley Beth Shalom — you will tour Jeanette's Judaic Art studio, learn about how she makes fiber art, and create a papercut work of art. Appropriate for any age person who is comfortable with a sharp knife (not young children). You only need to register one person per home. Print as many patterns as needed. Only 5 basic supplies needed.
After you register through VBS, you will receive the supply list, the zoom link and password, and the design for the papercutting we will make during our workshop.
SUPPLY LIST for Papercutting Workshop
Printout of the 8.5" x 11" pattern Jeanette will send to you after you register. Print the pdf on your home printer with your regular paper.
#11 Hobby Knife and Blade. It does not have to be a name brand, but it should have a #11 blade. They can be purchased at Amazon, Staples, Target, Wal-Mart, and at most hardware stores. If you cannot find a hobby or Xacto knife, purchase a knife here from Jeanette (shipping included within the US).
Piece of cardboard to put under your papercut while you are cutting (or a self-healing mat used for cutting fabric and paper). Cardboard should be thick enough to protect the surface of your table from the blade.
Glue stick or Elmer's glue.
Backing paper (any color you like) to go behind your finished papercut. Colored papers are available at the stores listed above. You can also use paint on white paper to create nice backgrounds. Jeanette will talk about background options during class.
